This Privacy Policy explains what information the RecruitAI browser extension and website collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built RecruitAI to be useful to recruiters while collecting as little personal data as possible.

Who we are

RecruitAI ("we," "us," or "our") is a browser extension and related website that helps recruiters generate outreach messages, candidate briefs, role-match assessments, and job-description rewrites using artificial intelligence. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to provide the service:

• Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Your settings. Preferences you set in the extension, such as your name, company, and preferred tone, are stored locally in your browser and used to personalize the text the extension generates.
• Page content you act on. When you click an action (for example, "Write Outreach") on a profile or job posting, the extension reads the visible content of that page so it can generate a relevant response. This content is sent to our AI provider to produce the result and is not stored by us afterward.
• Usage counts. We keep a simple daily count of how many generations you run, so we can enforce plan limits (for example, the free plan's daily allowance). This is a count, not a record of the content you generated.
• Payment information. If you subscribe, payments are handled entirely by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. We never see or store your full card details. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status and the email associated with it.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Generate the outreach messages, briefs, and other content you request.
• Personalize that content using the settings you provide.
• Maintain your account and apply the correct plan limits.
• Process and manage your subscription through our payment provider.
• Diagnose problems and improve the reliability of the service.

How page content is processed

When you trigger an action, the relevant page content is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic (the makers of Claude), to generate your result. This transmission happens only when you actively choose an action — the extension does not read or transmit page content in the background. Anthropic processes this content to return a response and, per their API terms, does not use data submitted through the API to train their models. Where your information is stored

Your settings are stored locally in your browser. Account and subscription records are stored on our backend server, which runs on managed cloud infrastructure. Payment records are held by Lemon Squeezy. We take reasonable measures to protect this information, including hashing passwords and restricting access to our systems.

Data sharing

We share information only with the service providers that make RecruitAI work:

• Anthropic — to generate AI responses from the page content you submit.
• Lemon Squeezy — to process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Our cloud hosting provider — to run our backend and store account records.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.

Your choices and rights

• You can clear your locally stored settings at any time by removing the extension or clearing its data in your browser.
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information by contacting us.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal provided by our payment provider.
• You can stop all data processing simply by uninstalling the extension.

Children's privacy

RecruitAI is a professional tool intended for adults in a recruiting or hiring context. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated through the extension or our website where appropriate.
